Dr. Facincani Dourado created synthetic hydrologic whiplash sequences of alternating dry and wet years to assess the impacts of climate whiplash on the services provided by reservoirs. Results indicate significant challenges for reservoir services, particularly in flood control and hydropower generation, underscoring the need for adaptive policies to enhance resilience and manage these extremes effectively while meeting diverse water demands.
